CAR CARE TIPS FOR YOUR CAR

                                                                  CAR CARE TIPS

**Regular Oil Changes**

Regular oil changes are essential for the longevity of your car’s engine. Engine oil lubricates the moving parts, preventing wear and tear, and helps to remove dirt and debris. It is recommended to change the oil every 5,000 to 7,500 miles, depending on the manufacturer’s guidelines. Using the correct type of oil for your car is also crucial. Check your owner’s manual to find out what type of oil is recommended.

**Tire Pressure and Tread**

Proper tire pressure can improve fuel efficiency, handling, and safety. Underinflated tires can lead to uneven wear, reduced traction, and increased risk of a blowout. Check your tire pressure at least once a month, and before long trips. Use a tire pressure gauge to ensure the pressure matches the recommended level, which can be found on the tire’s sidewall or in the owner’s manual. Additionally, check the tread depth by inserting a penny into the tire groove with Lincoln’s head facing down. If you can see the top of his head, the tread is worn out and it’s time for new tires.

**Battery Maintenance**

Make sure the battery is securely held in place, and the cables are not loose. If your battery is more than three years old, consider replacing it with a new one. Also, keep the battery terminals clean and dry to ensure proper electrical flow.

**Wiper Blades and Lights**

Clean and functional wiper blades are essential for safe driving during rain or snow. Replace your wiper blades every six to 12 months, or when they show signs of wear. Check your headlights and taillights regularly to ensure they are clean and functioning properly. Replace any burned-out bulbs promptly to maintain your car’s visibility on the road.

**Air Filter and Belts**

A dirty air filter can decrease your car’s fuel efficiency and performance. Check and replace your air filter every 15,000 to 30,000 miles, or as recommended by the manufacturer. Additionally, inspect your car’s belts regularly for signs of wear, such as cracks, frays, or excessive wear. Replace any worn-out belts to prevent damage to your engine or other components.

**Scheduled Maintenance**

Regular scheduled maintenance is crucial for your car’s longevity and performance. Check your owner’s manual for recommended maintenance schedules, which may include services such as oil changes, tire rotations,
